Liberals and "Fighting"
Anyone paying attention knows there is a great divide between Conservative and Liberals. It comes down to basic assumptions about the world and the semantics used to express these assumptions. Conservatives recognize good and evil. Liberals do not. Conservatives recognize differences in individual and national ambition that result from good and evil. Liberals do not. Conservatives recognize that individuals and nations are in constant conflict with each other as a direct result of the eternal struggle between mans evil weaknesses and good strengths. Liberals see this as irrelevant and beneath them and change the subject.
These opposing world views shape and color the language used to express them. When Conservatives speak of enemies they speak of real and tangible forces that mean to do physical damage or bring death to them. When Liberals speak of those that oppose them they cannot even bring themselves to use the word "enemy". Instead they use esoteric non-human labels such as "corporation" or "polluter". This is done to avoid associating these bad words with any one individual or group. Political correctness at least encourages if not prevents them from wounding anyones self esteem even one who is willing to make them, not just see them, dead. A handmaiden of political correctness is the need to avoid libeling or slandering anyone which could lead to nasty courtroom confrontations.
Which brings us to the word "fighting". Because Liberals see the judicial process as the epicenter for conflict resolution they view "fighting" instead as a judicial exercise that is to be confined exclusively to the courtroom. But this process does not apply to what a Conservative would see as a real enemy. Be it schoolyard bullies, drug dealers, international terrorists, or maniacal dictators Liberals believe all of these can be reasoned with and can be assuaged through negotiating in the magical First Kumbaya Court District. If there is a more strident side of this judicial process where "fighting" applies, it is only to be used against those terrible "corporations" and "polluters". This "fighting" is what Liberals mean when they say what they will do for us. Conservatives have a more practical agenda in mind. One that includes a strong national defense, enforcement of existing immigration laws, and a no nonsense approach to dealing with thugs whether they are domestic or foreign.
Conservatives also believe in "sides" as in you are on one side or the other. So think about which side you want to be on when the "fighting" breaks out. One could do worse than bring a knife to a gun fight. They could bring a lawyer.
